It's important to meet students where they are and customize lessons to their goals and strengths.
I'm just as excited to work with beginners who are finding Middle C as I am to coach people through Beethoven sonatas or Bach fugues.
When people ask what my favorite music is I have to say I like it all.
When I was a grad student practicing classical music six hours a day I usually had a book of popular music with me which I would play in order to change gears and just have fun.
Music is a gift and the only thing I know of that can make the whole world stop.
